It has grown late, the plates stand empty, but the table refuses to let go. Aalborg Krone belongs to that hour when midnight snacks appear, and a glass touched by citrus and spice rounds the evening off in style.
The Expert's Description
Aalborg Krone Akvavit is a golden Danish akvavit at 40% ABV, launched in 1990 and one of the younger classics in the Aalborg range.
It is made from a distillate of dill, caraway seeds and lemon peel, refined with extract of American white oak. That combination gives a nuanced taste with a wide spectrum of spice.
The result is an akvavit where citrus, licorice, wood, cardamom and allspice all play together, finished off by a discreet hint of black pepper in the aftertaste.
