Martinique's smallest distillery, founded in 2016 and named for the year an ancestor arrived on the island, distils its cane through a seven-plate copper column before slowly reducing the rum to 50.5%.
Expert Description
A1710 Diamond Rock Rhum Blanc Extraordinaire is a Martinique Rhum Agricole, distilled from pure sugar cane juice and bottled unaged at 50.5%.
A1710 was founded in 2016 by Yves Assier de Pompignan, a descendant of Jean Assier, who arrived on Martinique in 1710 and founded Habitation du Simon. The distillery is the island's smallest and operates under tropical conditions with a seven-plate copper distillation column. The Diamond Rock release is distilled from cane grown under tropical conditions and slowly reduced to its final strength, preserving the cane's freshness and intensity.
The result is a smooth, approachable white rhum with distinct floral and citrus character.
