Up to 25 years in cask, the last year of which is spent in casks from the legendary Château Lafon wine production, gives this expression its characteristic honeyed, golden depth.
Expert Description
Old St. Croix Non Plus Ultra Ambre d'Or Excellence is a Rum-based Spirit Drink matured for up to 25 years, bottled at 42%.
Old St. Croix, formerly known as A.H. Riise, changed its name in June 2025. This expression is a blend of rum matured for up to 25 years, first maturing in standard oak casks before being transferred to former French wine casks from Château Lafon for six months, followed by a further six months in casks that previously held the sweet Sauternes dessert wine. The long, two-part finish gives the rum its characteristic honeyed depth and velvety structure.
