This Whitlaw was bottled by the independent whisky merchant Signatory Vintage. The whisky was aged for 10 years in Rechar Butts and bottled in 2024 at a strength of 46%. It's an exceptionally delicious dram with lovely sherry notes. Although the name "Whitlaw" is used as an alternative, the whisky originates from the iconic Highland Park distillery on the Orkney Islands – a region known for its maritime influence and subtle peat smoke. This 10-year-old expression matured in Rechar Butts brings an added depth and complexity to the final product.

Rechar Butts are large 500-liter casks that have been re-charred internally to renew the active char layer. This process enhances the interaction between wood and spirit, resulting in a whisky with deeper notes of caramel, toasted oak, and gentle smoke. It’s a technique that highlights both sweetness and structure – creating in this edition a harmonious balance of fruit, spice, and smoke.
