Harvest is the time when everything comes in. The grain is stored, the air is sharper, and there is a calm to things. Stauning bottled that feeling and called it Høst – a single malt soft enough for everyday, complex enough to keep you interested.

    Expert description

Stauning Høst is a Danish Single Malt Whisky bottled at 40.5%. Stauning Whisky was founded in 2005 by nine friends in Skjern, West Jutland. Høst is an approachable, balanced single malt focused on fresh fruit, soft sweetness and a light grain character from floor-malted barley. New design – the whisky remains the same familiar expression in updated packaging.

Frequently asked questions about Stauning Høst

What does Stauning Høst taste like?

Stauning Høst is a light, fresh single malt with green apple, pear, soft honey and vanilla. Fresh, approachable and easy to enjoy.

Is Stauning Høst a good beginner whisky?

Yes, a natural choice. At 40.5% with a fresh, fruity profile, it is accessible for anyone looking to explore Danish single malt without being overwhelmed by bold flavours.

Is the new design Stauning Høst different from the old?

No, only the packaging has changed. The whisky is the same familiar Høst recipe – new bottle and label, same contents.

What is Stauning Høst good for?

Ideal as an aperitif dram, for casual tastings with friends or as a gift for someone new to whisky. It also works fine with a single ice cube.

What is the difference between Stauning Høst and Stauning Kaos?

Høst is an unpeated single malt at 40.5% with a fresh, fruity style. Kaos is a triple malt at 46% with more complexity, a hint of smoke and more spice.

Where does Stauning source its grain?

Stauning primarily uses locally grown barley and rye from West Jutland farms. All grain is floor-malted on their own malt lofts in Skjern – a rare practice giving full control over the malt profile from the beginning.
