Ron Cartavio Solera 12 Años is crafted with the utmost care at Captain Don Domingo de Cartavio's hacienda. The rum is made using the famous Solera technique and aged for 12 years in oak barrels. It boasts an aroma of nuts, bananas, spices, and subtle hints of caramel. On the palate, it is round and smooth, with delightful impressions of dried fruit, touches of coffee, and chocolate.

Captain Don Domingo de Cartavio, acquired the land where we now find Cartavio in the year 1675 and was responsible for giving this city its name. Moreover, it is assumed that he took his last name from the city Cartavio de Asturias, like many other Spaniards did during this time. Afterwards, the sugar production company, "Grace Sugar Company", decided to produce it's own rum, made from the molasses that were leftovers from the sugar creating process.

Destilerias Unidas, the distillery behind the brand, has history dating back to April 29, 1929, when it began its operations in Ron Cartavio's plant, founded by "Cartavio Sugar Company", property of W.R Grace and Co.
