Riedel Vinum Water is a machine-blown Water Glass in Crystal Glass from the Austrian glassmaking house Riedel, designed to complete the full Vinum table setting.

In 1986, the Vinum line set a new standard for machine-blown glass when Georg J. Riedel decided that varietal-specific glass engineering shouldn't be reserved for restaurants and exclusive hand-blown lines alone. The water glass is meant as the natural companion to the wine glasses, so guests never have to guess which glass belongs to what.

Design & Material

The shape is simple and round, clearly built as a counterpart to the more specialised wine glasses in the line. The Crystal Glass is blown just as thin as the rest of Vinum, so the water glass doesn't stand out in weight or finish next to a red or white wine glass.

Use & Recommendation

Set the water glass out alongside the other Vinum glasses at a dinner with several wines, so guests have somewhere to cleanse the palate between pours. It's just as dishwasher safe as the rest of the line, so it can go straight from the table to the dishwasher.
