Makar Cherry Gin is a Scottish flavoured gin from the Glasgow Distillery Company, bottled at 40%.
The gin is made by soaking ripe cherries and pink peppercorns in Makar's Original Dry Gin, before the base is pressed out and added back into the gin.
The eight core botanicals from the Makar range, juniper, angelica root, liquorice root, coriander seed, lemon peel, rosemary, black pepper and cassia bark, form the backbone that the cherries and peppercorns build upon.
The result is a gin that holds onto juniper's classic character while adding a rich cherry sweetness and a subtle spiciness from the pink peppercorns in the finish.
The gin won the title of World's Best Flavoured Gin at the World Gin Awards in 2019.
