Ten years is a milestone for a distillery that was still young when this bottle was filled. Mackmyra 10 Years Old was the first of its kind from the Swedish distillery, and it set the standard for what Swedish whisky could be.

    The Expert's Description

Mackmyra 10 Years Old is a Swedish Single Malt Whisky matured in Swedish oak and bottled at 46.1%.

The whisky was crafted by master blender Angela D'Orazio and marked a milestone as Mackmyra's first 10-year-old release. Maturation uses Swedish oak that has grown for over a hundred years under harsh Swedish conditions, and for the smoky character the distillery uses peat from the nearby Karinmossen bog together with fresh juniper twigs, giving the whisky a distinct Nordic signature.

A total of 20,000 bottles were produced of this first 10-year-old release from the Swedish distillery.
