Cantine Lombardo was founded in 1881 by Giuseppe Lombardo Maltese, an enterprising shipbuilder who saw an opportunity to send his own wine out into the world on his own ships.

    Expert's Description

Lombardo Marsala Fine I.P. Ambra Dry is a Fortified Wine from Sicily, Italy, with an alcohol content of 17%. The house is still run today by the Lombardo family, whose reputation grew as the founder's ships carried the wine to the whole world. Today the house produces around 1.6 million bottles a year, two-thirds of which are exported to over 60 countries. Fine I.P. indicates the basic Marsala category, while Ambra refers to the wine's amber colour, and Dry indicates that the wine is dry.
