No cask, no waiting, just raw distillate. Le Galion New Make shows the cane completely unfiltered, exactly as it left the still at one of Martinique's most respected yet least known distilleries.
Expert Description
Le Galion Martinique New Make RomDeLuxe is a Martinique Rum distilled from fresh cane juice in a Creole column, unaged and bottled at cask strength, 59.1%.
The rum comes from the Le Galion distillery on Martinique, which RomDeLuxe selected to show the distillate in its purest form, with no cask maturation whatsoever. Le Galion is less well known than the island's major agricole houses like Clément and Trois Rivières, but enjoys high regard among rum connoisseurs for its characterful, green style. This release is limited to just 80 bottles.
Without the influence of a cask, the rum's raw, herbal and yeasty character appears in all its unprocessed strength, a style close to traditional rhum agricole blanc, but with an even more rustic profile.
