Hapsburg is an Italian absinthe brand founded in 1999 and produced by Pallini, the house otherwise best known for its Limoncello. Under the Hapsburg name, they've built an entire range around the green fairy, from the milder Quartier Latin at 53.5% to the extreme X.C. editions at a full 89.9%. Classic sits in the middle and works as the entry point to the brand – the expression that shows what wormwood, anise and mint can do without turning the strength all the way down.

Like all modern absinthe, Hapsburg Classic stays well below the legal limits for thujone, the compound in wormwood that gave absinthe its slightly dangerous reputation in the 1800s. The flavour is built on the herbs themselves rather than on any half-mythical intoxication.
