Twenty-five years is a long time to wait for a bottle. At Gourry de Chadeville, that is the time Tres Vieux is given, layer upon layer of soft nuance that only appears when the cellar master dares let the Cognac rest long enough.

    Expert's Description

Gourry de Chadeville Tres Vieux 400th Anniversary is a 1er Cru French Cognac from Grande Champagne, 25 years old, bottled at 40%.

Gourry de Chadeville, the world's oldest Cognac house founded in 1619, often regards Tres Vieux as its flagship, a designation traditionally used for Cognac aged well beyond XO level. The grapes, Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc, come from the house's own plots in Grande Champagne, and the entire process, from distillation to maturation, takes place on the estate.

Twenty-five years in Limousin oak casks give a Cognac of great depth, where rancio, dried fruit and a light smoky character show what time alone can add.
