Glentauchers 2009/2022 is part of Mossburn's Vintage Casks series, bottled at full cask strength, a full 57.8%. The whisky was distilled in April 2009 and bottled in November 2022, after 13 years of maturation in a used Sauternes cask.
The casks for the Vintage Casks series are selected by Master Blender Neil MacLeod Mathieson and bottled non-chill-filtered with natural colour. The release is exclusive to Whisky.dk and bottled in a very limited quantity – only 294 bottles.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Sweet, wine-driven fruit, honey and a hint of the sweet French dessert wine.
Palate
Full-bodied and intense, with apricot, honey and a warm, sweet spice from the Sauternes cask.
Finish
Long, warm and sweet, with lingering notes of dried fruit.
