From a German immigrant's distillery in Cascade Hollow comes one of Tennessee's two great whiskey brands.

    Expert description

George Dickel No. 8 Tennessee Sour Mash 80 Proof Whisky is an American Tennessee Whiskey, bottled at 40%. George Dickel was born in Germany in 1818, emigrated to the US and settled in Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1850s. In 1884 he bought into the distillery at Cascade Hollow, originally founded in 1877, drawn by the pure spring water from the local limestone shelf. Like its better-known Tennessee neighbour, the whisky undergoes the Lincoln County Process, filtered through maple charcoal before barrel ageing, which gives it its signature smoothness.
