24 months in the barrel. White Wedding Limited Edition is proof of what patience can do to an imperial stout.

Expert description of Fanø Bryghus White Wedding Limited Edition

White Wedding Limited Edition at 14.6% is a beer that shows what patience, barrel ageing and a strong base recipe can develop into when given time to work undisturbed. This release is aged for a full 24 months, and the long time in the barrel gives the beer a deeper, more rounded and markedly more complex character than the standard version.

The aroma carries port-like fruit sweetness, dark berries, caramel and a subtle wood note. The taste opens with a soft, round sweetness, where notes of dried fruit, raisins, figs and dark caramel emerge. Midway through, the barrel character comes through more clearly with warm wood tones and a port-like fullness, while the roasted malt sits as a dark, rounded foundation.

Fanø Bryghus is located on the West Jutland island of Fanø, where the North Sea and the island's raw nature are a clear part of the brewery's identity. The brewery makes everything from classic, golden lagers to barrel-aged specialties, and has won several awards for its craft.
