Two barrel-aged styles meet in one glass. Sixtus of Nordby is Fanø Bryghus' answer to what happens when stout and barley wine collide.

Expert description of Fanø Bryghus Sixtus of Nordby Barrel Aged Imperial Stoutwine

Sixtus of Nordby is a unique specialty beer from Fanø Bryghus, created as a harmonious blend of a powerful Imperial Stout aged in rum barrels and a full-bodied Barley Wine matured in sherry barrels. The result is a complex, warming beer with a fine balance between the stout's deep chocolate tones and the rich malt notes from the barrel-aged barley wine.

The aroma offers layers of chocolate, figs, caramel and nuances of sherry and rum, while the taste is rounded off by a silky sweetness from lactose, vanilla and cocoa nibs. A beer that invites slow enjoyment and reflection.

Fanø Bryghus is located on the West Jutland island of Fanø, where the North Sea and the island's raw nature are a clear part of the brewery's identity. The brewery makes everything from classic, golden lagers to barrel-aged specialties, and has won several awards for its craft.
