Master Distiller Henrik Elsner adds a fourth colour to the ELG palette: purple carrots, which give the gin both its pink hue and a new layer of flavour.

ELG Gin No 4 is a Danish Pink Gin distilled at Stonge Grange and bottled at 46.5%.

The gin is made by extracting purple carrots in alcohol for one week, after which the extract is added to ELG No 1, the recipe of juniper, coriander seed and Danish carrots.

The purple carrots give the gin its distinctive pink hue entirely naturally, without any artificial colouring or added sweeteners.

Like the rest of the ELG range, No 4 holds firmly to the distillery's minimalist philosophy, letting a few carefully chosen ingredients speak for themselves.

Tasting notes

Nose

The nose is clean and juniper-driven with an earthy hint of carrot.

Palate

The palate is gently earthy with clear juniper and a light sweetness from the purple carrots.

Finish

The finish is long with lingering carrot notes.
