The world's last surviving wooden column still is not found in Guyana, but in an old glue factory complex in East London – East London Liquor Company has brought it to the city.

    Expert Description

East London Rarer Rum Demerara is a Rum made from Guyanese Demerara sugar and bottled at 40%.

The rum is distilled on the world's last surviving wooden column still, a historic piece of distillation technology that East London Liquor Company has brought into use at its distillery in Bow Wharf, East London. After distillation, the rum matures for 3 years in ex-bourbon casks. The company was founded in 2014 and was the first distillery in the East End for over 100 years, built on the idea of "decent booze, for a decent price, from decent people".
