The rum has been aged 5 years in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks, then 3 years in Spain in ex Dos Cartados Oloroso sherry casks (very dry sherry) and finally 2 years in ex Don Guido Pedro Ximenez sherry casks (very sweet sherry). In addition, the gift set contains another 20 cl of Seleccion Caribbean Ron Añejo Rum, which has first been aged for 10 years in the Caribbean. The rum is then blended in Jerez with selected casks of finished 5+5 rum. The result is a powerful rum with lots of sweetness and flavor.
