Barley's sweetness takes centre stage in this entry in Crown Royal's prestigious Noble Collection.

    Expert description

Crown Royal Barley Edition Noble Collection Blended Canadian Whisky is part of the brand's prestigious Noble Collection, where barley plays a prominent role in the blend, bottled at 45%. Crown Royal was created in 1939 by spirits magnate Samuel Bronfman to celebrate King George VI and Queen Elizabeth's royal visit to Canada — the first visit by reigning monarchs in the country's history. According to legend, Bronfman tested over 600 different blends before arriving at the final recipe, presented to the royal couple in a decanter wrapped in a purple velvet bag with gold embroidery. The whisky is produced today at the distillery in Gimli, Manitoba, on the shore of Lake Winnipeg, where about 80% of the grain comes from the local region, and the water is naturally filtered through limestone.
