Stone monuments still rise from the Irish landscape, silent witnesses to warriors who once roamed and ruled this land. Celtic Warrior is a tribute to them, a blend drawn from the west of Ireland, where the past and the cask meet in the glass.

    Expert Review

Celtic Warrior is a Blended Irish Whiskey matured in ex-Bourbon casks, bottled at 40%.

The whiskey comes from Ahascragh Distillers, the family business behind brands such as Clan Colla and Uais. The distillery is run by husband and wife Gareth and Michelle McAllister, who built Ireland's first zero energy emissions distillery into a restored 19th-century mill in Ahascragh, west of Ballinasloe in County Galway. The whiskey is a blend of several Irish whiskeys, assembled from separate batches and hand-selected casks. The Bourbon cask draws out vanilla, fudge and soft oak tones, keeping the profile approachable rather than heavy.

The name reaches back to the Celtic warriors who once ruled Ireland, a theme Ahascragh also explores across its other releases, where Irish history and clan stories recur on the labels.
