With a name that sounds like a warning from the brewery's own head, Blackout Brewing sends you on a journey into a dense, dark and syrupy stout.

Expert description of Blackout Brewing A Trip Inside a Separate Mind Maple Bourbon BA Imperial Stout

A Trip Inside a Separate Mind is a heavy, dark and intensely aged Imperial Stout at 11% from the Romanian brewery Blackout Brewing, where the sweetness from maple syrup and the depth from the bourbon barrels melt together into a dense, dessert-like whole. The beer appears almost black in the glass with a thick, oily structure that already hints at the powerful malt profile and pronounced barrel character.

The aroma is rich and sweet with distinct notes of maple syrup, dark brown sugar, bourbon vanilla and dark chocolate. Beneath the first layers, roasted malts, caramelised sugar and a light smoky warmth emerge, giving the aroma depth and complexity. The flavour is full-bodied, creamy and almost syrupy - the dark malts deliver cocoa, espresso and molasses, while the round character of the maple sweetness is balanced by the bourbon barrel's warmth, oak and lightly spiced undertones.

The finish is long, deep and lingering with notes of chocolate, vanilla, toasted oak and a sweet, warm bourbon tail. A beer that invites slow enjoyment and rewards every sip with new nuances.
