Jamaica's oldest, still operating distillery sends out another bottle from the same Nassau Valley, where rum has been distilled since 1749.

    Expert Description

Appleton Estate 8 Year Reserve Blend is a Jamaica Rum, a blend of pot and column still rums from Appleton Estate, aged a minimum of 8 years and bottled at 43%.

All rums in the blend are distilled and aged on the same estate in Jamaica's Nassau Valley, where the limestone-rich soils and tropical climate give the rum its distinctive terroir. Reserve Blend places particular emphasis on selected, heavy pot still rums, and no sugar, flavourings or other additives are added.

The result is a balanced rum where juicy tropical fruit meets a sharp, drying oak spice, supported by Appleton's classic orange peel character.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Orange peel, ripe banana and spicy nutmeg, with honey and toasted oak.

    Palate

Juicy tropical fruit with black pepper, ginger and oak tannins, followed by mellowing toffee, honey and vanilla.

    Finish

Long and spiced, with a drying, elegant close.
