On the banks of the mythical Silent Pool on the Albury Estate in the Surrey Hills sits a small distillery that has, since 2015, bottled the spirit of the place, from chamomile and elderflower at the water's edge to roses from the village gardens.

Silent Pool Gin is an English Premium London Dry Gin distilled at Silent Pool Distillery and bottled at 43%.

The distillery was founded in 2014, and within a year the first Silent Pool Gin, built on a full 24 carefully chosen botanicals, reached the market.

The recipe includes chamomile and elderflower that grow wild around the Silent Pool itself, plus roses and lavender from the nearby village of Albury, joined by citrus, kaffir lime and local honey for a light sweetness.

The gin is distilled in a hand-built copper still powered by a vintage wood-fired steam boiler, and the most delicate botanicals, such as rose petals, kaffir lime leaves, linden and elderflower, are macerated separately in a process the distillery calls the 'Gin Tea Infusion'.

Nose

The nose is floral and honeyed with chamomile and elderflower, lifted by a fresh citrus and kaffir lime tone.

Palate

The palate is complex with juniper up front, floral rose and lavender, and a subtle sweetness from local honey.

Finish

The finish is soft and lightly sweet, with a last trace of citrus.
