A Pinot Noir from Oregon or New Zealand is rarely shy about its fruit. It comes forward with cherry and spice, and that calls for a glass with a large, generous bowl if that body is going to have room to spread out.
The Expert's Description
Riedel Wine Tumbler O New World Pinot Noir 0414/67 is a red wine glass in crystal glass from the Austrian glassmaker Riedel, shaped without a stem for the more fruit-forward, full-bodied New World Pinot Noir styles.
The glass is the largest Pinot Noir glass in The O range and is built to give ample room to the fresh, often slightly higher-alcohol fruit found in cool-climate regions outside Europe. The bowl is taken from Riedel's stemmed glasses but set directly onto a solid base, so the same experience of aroma is preserved. If you want more reds to try in the glass, browse our range of Red Wine.
Design & Materials
The large, tall bowl gives the fresh, fruit-forward Pinot Noir plenty of room to breathe, while the still-narrower rim holds onto the floral aromas. The glass is machine-blown in crystal glass and stemless, making it sturdy enough for repeated use at dinners with several wines.
Use & Recommendation
The glass is designed for full-bodied New World Pinot Noir styles, where the fruit is more prominent than in the more restrained European versions. It is dishwasher safe, making it just as suited to an ordinary evening as to a gathering with several bottles of wine.

Did You Know?
Pinot Noir thrives best in cool climates, and some of the world's most celebrated New World examples come from the Willamette Valley in Oregon and Central Otago on New Zealand's South Island, where cool nights preserve the grape's acidity.
