From a basement in Vesterbro has grown a new take on the Danish bitter tradition, more elegant than the rugged classic, yet still holding on to its warmth.
Expert's description
Michael Bitter is a Danish bitter at 33% ABV, bottled at 50 cl by Bad Company Spirits.
Behind the brand stands Jens Lund, who started the company Bad Company in a basement in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. Michael Bitter is made from organic Danish ingredients and pays tribute to the Danish bitter tradition with a nuanced range of ingredients, including angelica root, orris root, tomato flakes, linden blossom and lemon verbena. The result is a bitter that tastes more elegant than the classic, powerful styles while still delivering the expected warmth. The bitter also works excellently in the classic drink Brandbil, which Bad Company Spirits has given a fresh new twist under the name La Babu, ideally with a touch of lime for acidity.
