Macleod's Island 8 Year Old is a Single Island Malt Whisky, matured for 8 years and bottled at 40%, from Ian Macleod Distillers. Ian Macleod Distillers was founded in 1933 and taken over by the Russell family in 1963, and is today an independent, family-owned spirits company that owns Glengoyne Highland Distillery, Tamdhu Speyside Distillery and Edinburgh Gin Distillery, among others. The Macleod's range, which Island belongs to, is a collection of regional single malts representing Scotland's different whisky regions — Island, Islay, Highland, Speyside and Lowland — under one shared label.
