Gammel Dansk Bitter Dram is a Danish bitter at 38% ABV, bottled at 70 cl.

Development began in 1964 under master blender J.K. Asmund, who as factory manager for Danske Spritfabrikker in Roskilde faced a pressing problem: the distillation plant had too few orders, and the factory needed a new product to survive. Three years later production began, and Gammel Dansk was created as a Danish answer to foreign bitters such as Underberg and Fernet Branca. The bitter is matured with 29 different herbs, spices and flowers, giving it a distinct, dry and aromatic profile with clear notes of herbs, liquorice, citrus and a lightly peppery finish.
