A bottle shaped like a column from the distillery itself, filled with tequila from the hacienda where Mexico's independence was once sparked. Corralejo still distils every step at Hacienda Corralejo in Guanajuato - from agave field to bottle.
Expert Description
Corralejo Reposado Tequila is a Mexican Reposado Tequila made from 100% agave and bottled at 38%.
Behind the bottle stands Hacienda Corralejo, an estate in Guanajuato that has produced tequila since 1755 and is known as the birthplace of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, the man who sparked the Mexican War of Independence. Hacienda Corralejo is one of only a handful of distilleries outside Jalisco with official rights to produce tequila, and the whole process - from harvesting blue Weber agave to hand-blowing the bottle - still takes place on the estate.
The Reposado expression is double distilled using the centuries-old Charentais method and aged around four months in a combination of American, French and Mexican oak, giving it a nuanced flavour spectrum.
