Brian Kinsman is the 6th Master Blender in the history of William Grant's - he joined in 1997, with a background as a chemical engineer and after an 8 year apprenticeship with David Stewart, he was appointed as Glenfiddich Malt Master and Master Blender for Grant's on December 1, 2009 with responsibility for quality control of råsprit and control of the maturation of the many casks. This is Batch 03/16 a Single Speyside Malt Whisky at 43%, which has been aged in used bourbon and sherry casks.

Nose : Damp earth and whisky-soaked wood intertwine with deep vanilla and smoky embers. Taste : Rich with complex flavours layered by double-maturation. Sherbet and zinginess slowly turn to spice. Tempting plum and cherry follow, with hints of toasted almonds and fruit cake. Finish: Silky and smooth. Exceptional skill, decades of dedication and an inventive mind make a brilliant Malt Master. Earth and soaked wood aromas blend with deep vanilla. Flavours are sharp with spice and round with plum. A hint of toasted almonds gives way to a silky smooth finish.
