Number 7 in the series is, as far as we know, the first 6 year bottling Kilchoman has made!

The color has become more golden and the whisky more complete.

In 2005, Anthony Wills founded the small farm distillery on Islay. This exciting new distillery, where craftsmanship is truly emphasized in the production, will develop into a legendary Islay malt with years of aging. In 2009, the Inaugural release and Autumn 2009 release were introduced. These two releases were, to say the least, a huge success and were quickly sold out within days. Subsequent releases included Spring 2010, Summer 2010, Winter 2010, and Spring 2011, all bottled at 46%. Since then, the Vintage 2006 was introduced, marking the first 5-year-old original bottling from Kilchoman.

In 2012, Kilchoman decided that their standard release in the coming years would be Kilchoman Machir Bay, named after the beautiful bay near the distillery. Machir Bay would gradually age year by year. In 2013, Machir Bay was composed of 4-5-year-old bourbon casks, with some of the 4-year casks receiving a sherry finish before bottling. Machir Bay has already received several awards at major whisky competitions, including the title of Scotland's Malt of the Year in 2013, an unprecedented achievement for such a young malt.

In 2010, Kilchoman successfully recruited John MacLellan, a longtime manager at Bunnahabhain, to take over the managerial role at Kilchoman. John's extensive experience of over 25 years in the whisky industry has significantly contributed to Kilchoman's progress.

In 2012, a very limited bottling of the 1st sherry release was produced, and in 2013, this annual sherry release was named Loch Gorm. Both oloroso sherry releases were quickly sold out.

Kilchoman 100% Islay is the name of the most unique product of Islay malt whisky. In the three releases of 100% Islay to date, only grain from the farm on which the distillery is located has been used, and it is 100% estate-malted. The aging and bottling process also takes place 100% on Islay and at the distillery.
