KilbegganWhiskey from Irland
Kilbeggan Irish whiskey and the Old Kilbeggan Distillery are part of Cooley Distillery, the only independent Irish-owned whiskey distillery. Cooley was established in 1987, the first Irish whiskey distillery to be setup in over 100 years with a clear vision of saving some of the historic brand names of Irish whiskey.
Cooley is extremely proud of being able to resurrect the Kilbeggan Irish whiskey brand and keeping it independent to maintain its authenticity. Cooley continues to invest in the Old Kilbeggan Distillery and the commencement of distilling onsite in 2007 is part of larger plans that Cooley has for bringing the Old Kilbeggan Distillery and its brands back to their former glory. It is often easy to taste the difference in whiskeys but it is sometimes difficult to know why they taste so different. Noel Sweeney, the Master Blender for Kilbeggan Irish whiskey, is the man who knows the subtle effects of distilling and maturing on our whiskey. He does that by having an excellent “nose”, sense of taste, plenty of experience and a precise memory. So there is no better man to talk us through why Kilbeggan Irish whiskey is so special.
