Elijah Craig Whiskey

Elijah Craig Whiskey

This Bourbon is named for the Rev. Elijah Craig, the man who discovered the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when he stored his wares in barrels that had been charred in a fire.

Elijah Craig 12-Year-Old is a true Small Batch premium Bourbon, and had that distinction before the term even existed.

Bottled exclusively from a dumping of 70 barrels or less, the brand carries the name of the Rev. Elijah Craig, the man who discovered the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when he stored his wares in barrels that had been charred in a fire.

Elijah Craig is critically acclaimed. It was awarded a “Double Gold Medal” at both the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and WSWA Tasting Competition, and whiskey expert and author Jim Murray calls it “unquestionably one of the great Bourbons.” It has twice been awarded “Best of the Best” from Whisky Magazine.

Elijah Craig is bottled at 12 year old and 94 proof, making it unique among U.S. Bourbons.

The elegant decanter-style bottle features an oversized cork stopper. The Elijah Craig 12-Year-Old Full Barrel Program offers trade and consumer participation in the personal ownership of a full barrel of premium whiskey. Each barrel comes with a certificate of ownership, signed by the Master Distiller, indicating the actual date your barrel was filled, put up to age, and the number of bottles it produced.

The Straight American Whiskey category maintained steady growth in 2010 with 15.3 million cases sold. Premium offerings will continue to outpace the overall category as the economy turns the corner. Elijah Craig Bourbon is bottled at 47 percent alcohol by volume (94 proof).

Distilled and bottled by the Elijah Craig Distillery, a subsidiary of Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., Bardstown KY.
